Discipleship Pathway

5 marks of what it looks like to follow Jesus — not a checklist, but a direction.

At Orchard, we believe following Jesus is not meant to be vague, passive, or disconnected from everyday life. The Christian life is a life of movement. Jesus calls people to come to him, walk with him, be changed by him, and join him in his mission to the world. These five phrases describe what that looks like — from your first Sunday to a lifetime of faith.

About Orchard 3

Step 1

Come as You Are

Attend church with us.

The first invitation is simple: come as you are. Not as you wish you were. Not after you've got things figured out. Just come.

Step 2

Live Connected

Connect in a group and serve at the church.

The Christian life was never designed to be lived alone. That's not an opinion — it's just true. Isolation weakens us. Biblical community strengthens us. And there's a real difference between attending a church and actually belonging to one.

Step 3

Be Generous

Tithe and give with joy.

Generosity is one of the clearest signs that the gospel is actually taking root in a person's heart. I've seen it happen — someone begins to give, and something inside them starts to loosen. The tight grip on their resources becomes something different. More open. More free.

Step 4

Be Transformed

Learn about God and live out your faith.

The goal of the Christian life is not information. It's transformation. Those are very different things. I've met plenty of people who know a lot about the Bible and haven't let any of it change them. I've also met people who know far less and are becoming more and more like Jesus every year. The difference is whether they're letting what they learn actually reach their lives.

Step 5

Change Your World

Share your faith locally and globally.

A disciple of Jesus is not only called in — a disciple is also sent out. Those two things belong together. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. He welcomed sinners, healed the hurting, proclaimed the kingdom, crossed cultural boundaries, and invited people into new life. Then he sent his followers to continue his mission. That includes you.

Wherever you are on the journey, take the next step.

This is not a checklist for earning God's love.

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. But grace doesn't leave us unchanged. Grace welcomes us, connects us, forms us, frees us, and sends us. At Orchard, we want to help you find hope and experience love through faith in Christ — one step at a time.
