About Orchard

Though Escondido has many churches and many people attend them, there are still more than 100,000 people in our city that do not attend any church or know they can find hope in Jesus Christ. Orchard is changing that.

"If I can do anything, my hope is to do things that help people find and follow Jesus.  We started the Orchard so people can find hope, and experience love through faith in Christ."

Assad Saif, Pastor at Orchard Community Church

We chose to start a Church in Escondido that excels in bringing people together.

In fact, we recognize the many challenges people have had with churches over the years and we want to be part of helping people heal. We love Escondido because of its rich diversity of people, culture, food and artistry. We also love the small town feel with a city that is filled with high capacity leaders and learners. The Orchard is not just another church. We have some of the most qualified teachers and team leaders in San Diego County. We aim to bring the best teaching and community building to Escondido. We do this by continually innovating toward meeting the culture where it is at and inviting people to put their hope in Jesus.

Our vision is to invite people to find hope and experience love through faith in Christ.

Orchard Community Church is an inviting community of believers seeking to help people find and follow Jesus. Our desire is to build a community built on our FAITH, HOPE and LOVE in Christ. We will seek to help people of all ethnicities; ages and backgrounds grow in their relationship with God, connect in their relationship with others and share their faith with people in their neighborhoods and around the world. We hope this process will change the way people see and understand Christianity.

Community

As a church our greatest hope and desire is to create a community:

  • Where people find hope and life change in Christ.
  • Where people can learn the truth of God’s Word and how to live it.
  • Where people connect with each other through life-sharing relationships.
  • That reaches out to people harassed and helpless (Matthew 9:36), helping them find truth and love through faith in Christ.
  • That works together to provide “easy to find” safe places for kids.
  • That strives to see the climate of the city move from unsafe and violent to safe and peaceful.
  • That is diverse in ethnicity and united by our common great love of God.
  • That serves in the church, in our neighborhoods, and around the world.
  • That is willing to try new and innovative things for the sake of helping people find a meaningful relationship with God.
  • That generously shares our faith, hope and love.

Our people are really dedicated!

At the Orchard our hope is to invite people into our church family who want to be committed to see God transform the community of Escondido by inviting people to find hope and experience love through faith in Christ.  The church is called the “body of Christ” in the bible making it a living organism bound together by God Himself.  When people “join” a local church they are contributing to advancing the Kingdom of God on earth by participating in the progression of building up the Body of Christ.  There really is no greater mission on earth!

What is Membership at The Orchard?

Here at the Orchard when we use the word “membership” we are defining it with words like, commitment, partnership, service, sacrifice and covenant relationship. To be a member at a church is different than being a member anywhere else. When you say you want to be a member at the Orchard you are saying that you believe this is where God wants you to be and where you believe God is alive and active. We invite you to take a step and become family at the Orchard; where you will be part of what helps the church reach people by inviting them to find hope and experience love through faith in Christ.
