Jesus, Our Heavenly Preist
This morning in Hebrews 8:1–13, Jesus serves as a superior "Heavenly Priest" whose ministry far surpasses the ancient Levitical system of animal sacrifices. This passage emphasizes that while the Old Covenant was a symbolic "shadow" prone to human failure, the New Covenant is a permanent reality based on Jesus' perfect, once-for-all sacrifice. Because Christ is now seated at the right hand of God, believers have a constant representative providing full and final forgiveness. Ultimately, believers are encouraged to "hold fast" to Jesus and stop trying to earn salvation through outdated rituals or past sinful habits.
