Gospel of John 20, Part 3

The Gospel of John

Sermon Outline | Group Questions

Light and dark, truth and lies, good and evil. While the world often feels like it’s filled with shades of gray, we all know that there are ways of living in the world that fill us with hope and joy, and there are ways of being that cause regret and despair. Join us in season three of our teaching series from the Gospel of John, Light in the Darkness, as we follow Jesus as he guides us on the path of life.

The Gospel of John

Bible Text: John 20:24-31

From Pastor Assad Saif

Doubt is Feeling "Uncertain"

I would drive my parents crazy with questions. Did you ask lots of questions as a kid? I am sure there are a variety of reasons that surrounded my questioning nature. What is interesting to me as an adult, is how patient my parents were with my questions. In my experience, some people grow up with parents who are less patient with questions. In these situations, people learn to keep their questions to themselves. This behavior then becomes part of how we interpret and experience God. I find it fascinating that God has given us the stories of the disciples and their amazing and questions. There is something about cultivating a relationship with God where questions are welcomed.

The main antidote to doubting, is to ask your questions. This week we will be looking at John 20:24-31, I am looking forward to studying and sharing some insights on Jesus' interaction with Thomas, better known as "Doubting Thomas".

Last Sunday we welcomed new people to our church, celebrated three people being baptized, and 100 people in Life Groups. It was amazing to be together! Connecting to one another is one of the ways we grow in our faith. I encourage you to consider joining a group.
