Gospel of John 17, Part 2

The Gospel of John

Sermon Outline | Group Questions

Light and dark, truth and lies, good and evil. While the world often feels like it’s filled with shades of gray, we all know that there are ways of living in the world that fill us with hope and joy, and there are ways of being that cause regret and despair. Join us in season three of our teaching series from the Gospel of John, Light in the Darkness, as we follow Jesus as he guides us on the path of life.

The Gospel of John

Bible Text: John 17

From Pastor Assad Saif

How can you be in, but not of the world?

This is an interesting concept. Jesus prays for his followers to live as those who are in the world, and yet separate from it. Kind of like light in the darkness. Though surrounded by darkness, Jesus followers illuminate their surroundings with the light of their faith, offering guidance and inspiration to others while remaining distinct from the darkness they seek to overcome.

We are going to talk about it this week.

Last week I preached on the first part of John 17 which is known as Jesus' High Priestly Prayer. There are three parts to this prayer, and this Sunday we will focus on the second part. I hope to see you there!
