Light and dark, truth and lies, good and evil. While the world often feels like it’s filled with shades of gray, we all know that there are ways of living in the world that fill us with hope and joy, and there are ways of being that cause regret and despair. Join us in season three of our teaching series from the Gospel of John, Light in the Darkness, as we follow Jesus as he guides us on the path of life.
The Gospel of John
Bible Text: John 17
From Pastor Assad Saif
Do you love sleeping in your bed? I know I do!
I recently had the opportunity to visit my son, Korban, in Charleston South Carolina. Korban is there as part of his current Naval training. I had a wonderful visit with him. We explored Charleston, spent time walking through the town, eating at fun places, having long conversations, and watching movies into the wee hours of the night. I loved every minute of my time with him. I loved it because I love him. He was the reason I was there. I had a decent place to sleep, but every time I went to bed, I thought to myself "this place doesn't feel like home."
All of us have been on trips and had good times, and yet, there is something about going home and sleeping in your own bed that is different. Imagine this sentiment when it comes to Jesus. He came from heaven to earth, and in John 17:1-5, we will see Jesus' prayer to the Father about his imminent homecoming.
