Sermon Outline | Group Questions
This January we are going to take some time and set our priorities as a church from the pulpit. For the sermon series this year, we will focus on the discipleship path at Orchard, called "First Things First" (We call it our "Spiritual Growth Path" or sometimes for short you might hear "Growth path").
First Things First: Spiritual Growth Path
Bible Text: Ephesians
From Pastor Assad Saif
Human beings are complex...
In 2001 Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend wrote the book How People Grow. It is an amazing book that explores the intricacies of personal development through the lens of Christian spirituality and psychology. Coming in at 368 pages, this book takes you on a journey of spiritual, relational, and psychological growth. It is very interesting indeed.
Let me give you the short summary:
- You need to understand your need for growth.
- Then confront the truth of your life without denial.
- Take responsibility for your life.
- Embrace relationships as part of your journey.
- Experience the transforming power of God.
Pretty cool stuff! As we close our sermon series this week, we will focus on the transforming power of God. I look forward to sharing the message with you!
