Advent of Peace
A Word from Pastor Assad Saif and a look at Isaiah 9:6-7:
The simplest definition of advent is.... arrival.
Our new sermon series will focus on the Advent of Jesus. As we begin our Christmas Season, I want to challenge us all to stay focused on the things we learned in our Psalms preaching series. We learned much about forgiveness, hope, and gratitude. These themes will help us as we begin to turn our attention to the arrival of Jesus as a baby, in Bethlehem, as well as consider the hope Jesus brings now. This week we will learn about the Advent of Peace. I am looking forward to sharing all about it with you.

Sermon Discussion
- Have you ever experienced intense conflict or a sense of despair? Is there something you can share with the group?
- How about a time of peace? When is a time you remember feeling at peace? What can you share?
- What does the word “advent” mean?
- What did you think about the point “Advent begins in the dark?”
- What promise does verse one look forward to?
- What were the northern tribes of Israel experiencing? How do you think they would have responded to Isaiah 9:2?
- How does this message of the advent of peace, personally impact you? What is God saying to you?
- What do you think God wants you to do with what you learned?
- Is there someone you think God would have you share this message with?
- What is a step of faith you can take this week?
