Facing the Impossible

Facing the Impossible

We all face challenges at times that seem impossible. Sometimes they are. Sophia Cheung built a reputation on being a selfie-daredevil, sometimes doing feats that seemed impossible. In her case, she went too far in daring the impossible. Last July this 32 year-old died while trying to take a waterfall selfie in Hong Kong’s Ha Pak Lai park. The ability to challenge the limits has a lot to do with – where does our strength and ability come from? That’s what we will look at and we will anchor our study in 2 Kings 3. What is impossible is an important question for us individually and as a church. The answer is no cliff-hanger. It is just a simple truth that we need to confront.

  • Read 2 Kings 3:18. What is the simple thing the Lord refers to in this verse
  • Read 2 Kings 1 and 2. What humanly impossible things happen in these chapters?
  • If someone lived through the "miracles" of these chapters, how should that affect the way they face each new day?
  • According to 2 Corinthians 4:7 why does God show his power through 'clay pots?' Who are the clay pots?
  • Talk about some things you see as impossible in your life right now. How about the life of Orchard Community Church? What is the way to a solution?
