Sermon Outline | Group Questions

Light and dark, truth and lies, good and evil. While the world often feels like it’s filled with shades of gray, we all know that there are ways of living in the world that fill us with hope and joy, and there are ways of being that cause regret and despair. Join us in season three of our teaching series from the Gospel of John, Light in the Darkness, as we follow Jesus as he guides us on the path of life.

Light in the Darkness: Thanksgiving

Bible Text: John 13 | Pastor, Assad Saif

"If you were at dinner with Jesus and he said "the one who dips his bread in the dish with me, will betray me."? Would you feel insecure? Dipping bread in the dish would be like sharing a bowl of salsa. Jesus' disciples would have wondered "Who dipped the bread with Jesus?" And their next question could easily have been "Was it me?"

I find insecurity manifests itself in a variety of ways. Insecurity permeates one's emotional, mental, and social spheres. Emotionally, individuals may experience anxiety, self-doubt, and fear of judgment.

This is a wild thing to consider, especially right after Thanksgiving! This week, we will be finishing our study in John 13. It is a fantastic picture of how Jesus displays love that imparts confidence. I hope to see you this weekend!

I am grateful for you and praying for the health of our church, and that we can keep sharing the gospel with people and teaching them about Jesus. Thank you for making Orchard your home, I love this church!"
