Psalm 32
A note from Pastor Assad Saif about this week's sermon:
I played the Trumpet in High School. It was so long ago, most people do not know or have forgotten I did that. I began recruiting beginning trumpet players my freshman year of High School and our brass section was amazing by the time I graduated. One of my favorite parades of the year was the Veterans Day Parade. In my small hometown of Coachella California, we had many Veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces. Being part of the Marching Band for my school afforded me the unique opportunity to learn many of John Phillip Sousa’s Marches including “El Capitan” and the famous “Stars and Stripes”. I know I sound like a nerd. I was… I still am.
My grandpa on my mom’s side of the family was a Navy Frogman in WWII which was a precursor to the Navy Seal program. He helped start the Seal program for the Navy in Coronado. His son, my uncle, later became a Navy Seal and is a Navy Veteran today. It is an honor to celebrate our Veterans this week, I invite you to join me in inviting Veterans to church this week as we celebrate Veterans Day. We even have a special presentation from our new Children’s Choir this weekend. I can’t wait to hear them.
Our sermon this week will focus on Psalm 32. These 11 verses focus on helping us understand forgiveness and why it is important to be forgiven.
