Gospel of John, 16 Part Two

The Gospel of John

Sermon Outline | Group Questions

Light and dark, truth and lies, good and evil. While the world often feels like it’s filled with shades of gray, we all know that there are ways of living in the world that fill us with hope and joy, and there are ways of being that cause regret and despair. Join us in season three of our teaching series from the Gospel of John, Light in the Darkness, as we follow Jesus as he guides us on the path of life.

The Gospel of John

Bible Text: John 16:16-33

From Pastor Assad Saif

The Doctor said she may not be breathing...

These are the words I heard when my first daughter was born. My wife was in labor just about to give birth, and we were told our daughter may not be breathing. We were in a crowded room with our doctor and three nurses and a neonatal crash cart. Everything looked bad. The only thing we had was our faith that God might do something amazing, and turn our sorrow into joy. Our pastor came into the room, prayed for God to do a miracle... and our baby girl was born screaming with her lungs full of air. Thank you God!

One of the great blessings for us today is that we can be reminded regularly of Jesus' victory. In our moment of despair, we needed to be reminded that God has a plan. This week as we take a look at John 16:16-33, I hope you will be reminded of God's great plan, and your part in it.
