Jesus the Forever Priest

Throughout history, God established systems like the Levitical priesthood and animal sacrifices to help humanity maintain a relationship with Him, but these methods were temporary and limited by human imperfection. The Book of Hebrews explains that a fundamental change occurred with Jesus, who serves as a perfect and eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. Unlike human priests who had to offer continuous sacrifices, Jesus offered Himself as a single, flawless, and permanent sacrifice for all. Because His eternal sacrifice fully satisfied the requirements of the law, the old system has been completely replaced by a better covenant. As a result, believers are encouraged to stop trying to earn their salvation and instead trust completely in Jesus' finished work to enjoy a secure, everlasting relationship with God.
