Chairman of the Board of Elders | June 2021

 

The Orchard Community Church would like to welcome our new Chairman of the Board of Elders, Fred Franklin.

Fred was born and raised in San Diego California Graduated from Lincoln High School. Studied Environmental Technology Occupational Health and Safety at Cuyamaca college.

Fred is a USPS Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. Fred has 20 years in the automotive repair and maintenance industry starting first as a technician then eventually as an Executive Manager. Currently, Fred is the Retail and Delivery Managing Supervisor for the United States Postal Service. Tentatively he will be apart of the managing team overseeing the Vehicle Maintenance Department VMF for the San Diego District.

He  has been married to his wife Deborah for over 10 years. They have a blended family that consists of three daughters and four and half grandkids and dog named Milo. They have lived in Escondido for 10 years. The like to spend time together as a family and travel.

Fred is an avid fisherman, out doors-man and motorsports enthusiast.

Fred and his family decided to join the Orchard community church when it was first planted. They have journeyed with Pastor Assad and many other leaders from our sending church Emmanuel Faith. Fred has the desire to reach those in our community and re-present Jesus Christ to those who are lost and have no hope. He has has a heart to be of maximum service to God and his people.

Fred has served at the Orchard in many different capacities from the set up and tear down team, security team, ushers and greeter team to directing our outreach team and vice chairman of the board of Elders.

Fred has also served in the city sitting on the Community Services board as a Commissioner for the city of Escondido, a liaison to the city council. His hope is that together as a congregational body we can change the world, or at least Escondido.

Deuteronomy 33:25 Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.
