SONG TITLE: YOUR LOVE AWAKENS ME

Verse 1
There were walls between us
By the cross You came and broke them down
You broke them down
And there were chains around us
By Your grace we are no longer bound
No longer bound

Pre-Chorus
You called me out of the grave
You called me into the light
You called my name and then my heart came alive

Chorus
Your love is greater
Your love is stronger
Your love awakens awakens awakens me
(REPEAT)

Verse 2
Feel the darkness shaking
All the dead are coming back to life
I’m back to life
Hear the song awaken
All creation singing we’re alive
‘Cause You’re alive

Bridge
And what a love we’ve found
Death can’t hold us down
We shout it out
We’re alive ’cause You’re alive

Ending
Your love awakens me
Your love is greater
Your love is stronger
You’re love awakens awakens awakens me

SONG TITLE: RUN TO THE FATHER

Verse 1
I’ve carried a burden for too long on my own
I wasn’t created to bear it alone
I hear Your invitation to let it all go
I see it now I’m laying it down
And I know that I need You

Chorus
I run to the Father
I fall into grace
I’m done with the hiding
No reason to wait
My heart needs (found) a surgeon
My soul needs (found) a friend
So I’ll run to the Father
Again and again
And again and again

Interlude
Oh oh oh

Verse 2
You saw my condition
Had a plan from the start
Your Son for redemption
The price for my heart
I don’t have a context
For that kind of love
I don’t understand
I can’t comprehend
All I know is I need You

Interlude
Oh oh
Again and again
And again and again
Oh oh oh
(Again and again)

Bridge
My heart has been in Your sights
Long before my first breath
Running into Your arms
Is running to life from death
I feel this rush deep in my chest
Your mercy is calling out
Just as I am You pull me in
And I know I need You now

SERMON NOTES with SCRIPTURE

SERMON TITLE: The Faithful

TEACHER: Dan Vandewarker

PASSAGE: Psalm 5

The Problem: Asking for help is hard. (Psalm 5:1-2)

Psalm 5:1-2 (NIV)

1 Listen to my words, Lord,
consider my lament.
2 Hear my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.

Question: Are you willing to ask God for help?

__________

Main Point: God hears the faithful. (vv. 3-4)

Psalm 5:3-4 (NIV)

3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly.
4 For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness;
with you, evil people are not welcome.

Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

The hardest part of faith for many is having hope in the midst of things that we don’t understand.

__________

Psalm 5:5-6 (NIV)

5 The arrogant cannot stand
in your presence.
You hate all who do wrong;
6 you destroy those who tell lies.
The bloodthirsty and deceitful
you, Lord, detest.

Observation 1: God supports his kids. (vv. 5-6)

Question: What are some challenges that you are facing today that you need to pray about?

__________

Psalm 5:7-8 (NIV)

7 But I, by your great love,
can come into your house;
in reverence I bow down
toward your holy temple.
8 Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness
because of my enemies—
make your way straight before me.

Observation 2: God welcomes his family. (vv. 7-8)

John 1:14 (NIV)

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Questions: How is your posture before God?
Are you open to his leading and helping you?

Do your life rhythms reflect God’s purpose in your life?

__________

Psalm 5:9-10 (NIV)

9 Not a word from their mouth can be trusted;
their heart is filled with malice.
Their throat is an open grave;
with their tongues they tell lies.
10 Declare them guilty, O God!
Let their intrigues be their downfall.
Banish them for their many sins,
for they have rebelled against you.

Observation 3: God brings about justice. (vv. 9-10)

Questions:

Have you ever been treated harshly?
Have you had something unfair happen to you?
Have you found yourself in an unpredictable circumstance?

Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

__________

The Challenge: Be vulnerable with God. (vv. 11-12)

Psalm 5:11-12 (NIV)

11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
12 Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

~End of Sermon~

SONG TITLE: GOD OF REVIVAL

Verse 1
We’ve seen what You can do oh God of wonders
Your power has no end
The things You’ve done before in greater measure
You will do again

Pre-Chorus
‘Cause there’s no prison wall
You can’t break through
No mountain You can’t move
All things are possible
There’s no broken body You can’t raise
No soul that You can’t save
All things are possible (things are possible)

Chorus
The darkest night
You can light it up
You can light it up
Oh God of revival
Let hope arise
Death is overcome
You’ve already won
Oh God of revival

Verse 2
You rose in victory and now You’re seated
Forever on the throne
So why should my heart fear what You defeated
I will trust in You alone

Bridge
Come awaken Your people come awaken this city
Oh God of revival pour it out pour it out
Every stronghold will crumble
(I) Hear the chains hit the ground
Oh God of revival pour it out pour it out

Interlude
Oh oh God of revival
