SONG TITLE: GLORIOUS DAY

Verse 1
I was buried beneath my shame
Who could carry that kind of weight
It was my tomb ’til I met You

Verse 2
I was breathing but not alive
All my failures I tried to hide
It was my tomb ’til I met You

Chorus

(‘Cause when) You called my name (and)
I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
into Your glorious day
You called my name (and)
I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
into Your glorious day

Verse 3
Now Your mercy has saved my soul
Now Your freedom is all that I know
The old made new
Jesus when I met You

Bridge
I needed rescue
my sin was heavy
But chains break
at the weight of Your glory
I needed shelter
I was an orphan
Now You call me
a citizen of Heaven
When I was broken
You were my healing
Now Your love is
the air that I’m breathing
I have a future
my eyes are open

SONG TITLE: RUN TO THE FATHER

Verse 1

I’ve carried a burden
for too long on my own
I wasn’t created
to bear it alone
I hear Your invitation
to let it all go
I see it now
I’m laying it down
And I know that I need You

Chorus

I run to the Father
I fall into grace
I’m done with the hiding
No reason to wait
My heart needs (found) a surgeon
My soul needs (found) a friend
So I’ll run to the Father
Again and again
And again and again

Verse 2

You saw my condition
Had a plan from the start
Your Son for redemption
The price for my heart
I don’t have a context
For that kind of love
I don’t understand
I can’t comprehend
All I know is I need You

Interlude
Oh oh
Again and again
And again and again
Oh oh oh
(Again and again)

Bridge
My heart has been in Your sights
Long before my first breath
Running into Your arms
Is running to life from death
I feel this rush deep in my chest
Your mercy is calling out
Just as I am You pull me in
And I know I need You now

SERMON NOTES with SCRIPTURE

SERMON TITLE: My Deliverer

TEACHER: Dr. Assad Saif

PASSAGE: Psalm 1

The Problem: We often reject God’s law.

__________

Psalm 1:1-2 (NIV)

1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.

Main Point: The rooted life bears fruit. (vv. 1-2)

Question:

What is your attitude toward God? What is your posture toward God?

__________

Psalm 1:3 (NIV)

3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.

Observation 1: Strength and Security. (v. 3)

Questions:

Is your faith strong and secure? What do you put your trust in today?

__________

Psalm 1:4-5 (NIV)

4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

Observation 2: That is Substance and integrity. (vv. 4-5)

The wicked will not be able to stand, but those who have lived faithfully with God will be those with integrity and thereby able to stand with God. They know that the substance of their lives comes from the living God.

__________

Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Psalm 1:6 (NIV)

6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

The Challenge: Be rooted in the Lord. (v. 6)

God has you in the palm of His mighty hand and he will not let you go.

SONG TITLE: AMAZING GRACE (My Chains are Gone)

Verse 1
Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I’m found
Was blind but now I see

Verse 2
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

Chorus
My chains are gone I’ve been set free
My God my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love amazing grace

Verse 3
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

Verse 4
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God who called me here below
Will be forever mine
Will be forever mine
You are forever mine
