Last Sunday evening it was great to see such an enthusiastic, committed group of farmers. Yes, that’s what we are. Taking care of an orchard is a lot more than picking the fruit. Right now we are in the process of preparing the soil, taking out rocks and weeds, and plowing up the earth in order to get it ready for the new young trees. It’s work, and not always easy, but doing it well at this stage gives us the promise of much fruit.
Thanks so much to all of you who signed up for the Life Groups and to help at the Orchard information tent on Sunday mornings. If you haven’t done that yet, there is still time. Contact Natalie for the Life Groups (Natalie@orchardcc.org) and Jan to find out where we still need help on Sundays. (firstname.lastname@example.org). We will also have the sign-up sheets at the November 10th meeting.
Here is the schedule of Team meetings for the month of November:
We have asked for the Holy Grounds Café at 1:00pm, but are waiting for official confirmation. That may not come until next week. So, put the date on your calendars, and as soon as I know I will send you an e-mail.
12:30 at Kit Carson Park, Tree Lake site number 1. It is on the south end of the park, a covered structure right next to the children’s play area. This is going to be a time of fellowship and getting to know each other. Bring a picnic lunch. We will provide water.
There are still a few things that need to be firmed up for December’s schedule. When that is done I will get the dates out to you.
There is amazing commitment from you all. Let’s keep it up as we come down the home stretch to the soft launch January 5th.
Workers together in His Orchard, Jan
