Series: Rooted at The Orchard
Title: Partner
Passage: Matthew 6:19-24

Thank you for taking the time to read Orchard's weekly news bulletin.  It is our hope that the information in this communication will enable you to get plugged in, get to know your brothers and sisters in Christ, and come together in fellowship as Christ followers with the goal of "inviting people to experience Hope through Faith in Christ."

If you missed last Sunday, you can listen to last week's sermon "Grow" by clicking here.

Weekly Memory Verse: "I have been crucified with Christ and I no long live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Gal. 2:20

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6

Our Children's Ministry program continues to grow and is in need of help.  If you are not yet serving and looking for a place to serve, we could use your help serving once a month in the following areas:

-Check-in our kiddos at the 9:00 or 10:30 services (this is a simple task requiring some computer skills to take attendance) .  The Check-in process takes about 15-20 minutes.
-Children's Church at 9:00  One more teacher and 2 more helpers to assist the teacher once a month for ages K-5
K-1st Class at 10:30 - 2 or 3 people to serve once a month that can assist the teacher in the K-1st (Sprouts) class.
-  We also need people that would be willing to be placed on a substitution list to fill in where needed.  This is a critical need when a volunteer becomes sick or is unable to make it to church and would need someone to fill in.

At the Orchard, our Children's Ministry program is one of our top priorities in 2017.  We believe God has called OCC to provide a safe place for our kids to learn and experience the love of Jesus.  We can't do this without the support of people like you.  I pray that you would consider serving in this ministry.

We will have a sign-up sheet this Sunday, Jan  22 at the kid's check-in table.  If you have any questions or would like to learn more about our Children's Ministry, please contact Tonya Pinkerton @ or call 760-975-1877.

Come enjoy a hearty breakfast and get to know the other men at Orchard Community Church.  We'll be challenged from God's Word, have a good time of fellowship, and time for prayer.

When: Saturday, Jan 28
Time: 7:30 - 9:00 a.m.
Where: J&M's Family Restaurant
Location: 1215 E. Valley Parkway, Escondido

Ready to slide down a snow-covered tube run? Encounter Jesus? Deepen friendships with students in your youth group?

Junior High Winter Camp is THE place for your 6th, 7th, and  8th grade campers to get away from the academic and  social pressures of Junior High and instead focus on their  identity in Christ and place in God’s family of believers.  During a 3-day weekend of camp, running Friday through  Sunday, students will discover who God has made them to  be through teaching from God’s Word, small group  discussions, and relevant worship.

Of course, no Winter Camp is complete without the fun! Creative games and interactive team challenges ensure there is never a dull moment. Campers have the freedom to explore the many seasonal recreation options at Forest Home all weekend long. (Hot chocolate at Stagecoach, Zip lining through the trees, or Phase Ten by the fireplace, anyone?) Campers will enjoy living in community, making new friends, and creating memories that will give them confidence as they navigate the changes and challenges that middle school so often brings.

To Register click here.

P.S. We are looking to provide scholarships to families in need who would like to send their youth to Forest Home Winter Camp. Should it be on your heart to make a contribution, the Lord will be praised, junior highers will fellowship, and their families will be thankful. Altogether, we are looking to raise a total of $500 If you would like to make a donation, please use the envelopes provided in the Sunday Bulletin and write "Winter Camp" on the outside of the envelope.
